The 2020 Symphony was inspired by the Covid pandemic. The first of the four movements depicts our civilization's headlong rush toward its demise; set to a jazz rhythm, it evokes our unconsciousness of an impending catastrophe. The second is a moment of respite, prompting us to acknowledge the significance of the Covid event. The third is a bacchanal. Unlike the first three, which are atonal in style, the fourth is composed on a tonal theme, representing the hope of redemption.
